Supposedly it cryptographically signs activities on your side, it only
worked on windows last time I checked...

Last time I checked govt agencies like misrad hapnim were completely
incompetent when it came to data security, see for instance the whole db of
Israeli citizens from several years ago on p2p networks, do you need more
then that for an answer....
Another friend of mine recently noticed that the jerusalem municipal site
for paying arnona needs to be manually forced into https mode to securely
pay...
If you really have to use it that way I suggest you create a vm just for
that purpose...
