22,074 new homes were sold in 2012 up from 19,353 in 2011, the Ministry of
Housing and Construction reported today

There were 39,761 building starts in 2012, down from 45,734 building starts
in 2011 and 40,529 in 2010. Tel Aviv led with 3,837 far ahead of Jerusalem
in second place with 2,309 building starts, 1,502 in Beit Shemesh, 1,286 in
Petah Tikva, 1,242 in Netanya, and 1,046 in Ashkelon.
