Thank you , Gil Kersanti, for modeling superhuman dedication and
consideration for the city's youth
in taking it upon yourself to co-ordinate this year's Yom HaAtzmaut
event at Be'er HaTikva
As things stand now, the performer will be Amir Dadon. Additionally,
we want local youth to get up on the stage, so please encourage yrou
kids to contact Gil and promote their talents.
Note for the uninitiated:
The Be'er HaTikva Yom HaAtzmaut event is the Responsible Adults'
Response to the "ancient" Israeli tradition (which dates back to the
days when most of Israel's Jews were youth themselves, and the streets
were safe for them) to party late at night on Yom HaAtzmaut. The
event at Be'er is open to youth and adults alike, so that it is
supervised, time-limited (midnight to 1:30am) and all-in-all a very
respectable atmosphere.
Mayor Aboutbul has participated in all the years that he is mayor.
The initiator of this community custom, Gil Kersanti, has always
encouraged parents (and local adults in general) to attend this event
and be part of their children's life - one way to bridge the
generation and culture gap.
