[RBS] New Social Skills Groups at Partners with Parents

Partners with Parents will be having new social skills groups for the new
school year. 
 
If you think that your child may benefit, and would like to receive a
questionnaire to complete, just send an email to  Gayle at partnerswithparents
org.IL or download the PDF form from our home page www.partnerswithparent
org.IL. (We MUST receive this completed form in order to consider your child
for a group.)
 
Our Social Skills Training Program is designed to help children who: 
*Feel rejection 
*Are isolated 
*Are shy 
*Are impulsive 
*Lack assertiveness 
*Are teased 
*Have difficulty making or keeping friends 
*Are bullied or bully others 
*Have some type of mild learning disability 
*Experience other mild neurological deficits 
 
The children will learn how to: 
*Understand and express emotions 
*Make conversation 
*Learn alternatives to aggression/conflict resolution 
*Join in play with peers 
*Make and maintain friends 
*Problem solve 
*Build self-esteem 
*Engage in verbal/non verbal communication 
*Practice taking the perspective of others - “Theory of Mind” 
 
Our groups: 
* grades 1-6 
* small groups 
* 2 yr span for each group 
* separate groups for boys and girls 
* direct teaching using a cognitive approach 
* individualized goals modeling/acting, coaching 
* behavioral interventions 
* parent meetings 
* weekly parent updates 
* weekly homework to reinforce skills 

Your children will be learning and practicing skills which reflect the 
repertoire needed for future social success!
