[RBS] Environment Course - starting soon

The public is invited to take part in a new course on environmental issues
that will begin on October 18th.

What: Theoretical & practical lectures/workshops/discussions on various
environmental issues affecting the globe/Israel/ our local region PLUS an
opportunity to develop an individual or group local project. The course is
based on the "Tochnit Rikma" of the Heschel "Centre for Local
Sustainability" (www.kayamut.org.il) 
 
When: 10 weekly sessions, Sunday evenings 7:00pm -10:00 pm + one Friday a.m.

Who: Suitable for local residents interested in advancing their own
knowledge and working towards better environmental policy & practice at a
local level - includes Council members, community volunteers, principals,
educators, neighbourhood or school va'ad members, etc.

Where: Half the meetings in Nocham (Mateh Yehuda), half in or near Beit
Shemesh

Why: Because individuals create change!

The course is a project of Shemesh Yehuda, the local environmental forum, in
coordination with the Centre for Local Sustainability, Moetza Mateh Yehuda,
City of Beit Shemesh and the "Sorek" Environmental Unit.
