I had posted this notice to my street's mailing list and realized that it involves the whole great Beit Shemesh, so I am posting it to all the local lists that I know of.

I have written to the list before about the break-in to my house (6 days before Rosh Hashana), but I feel a desperate need to talk about it again for 2 reasons.

*** Firstly, there have been numerous break ins on lachish (shuls and ganim) in the past few weeks and months and most recently another house was broken into a couple of days ago.  Now I am not writing who it was (she doesn't want her kids to know) and if you know her, I am sure she will tell you about it, but everybody must be aware and help make an effort to prevent this in the future.
The arabs have no shame, they go in in broad daylight, and I believe they are watching, because they know when we go out of the house.

***Secondly, you should all know, that any witness to the robberies happening here (the greater Beit Shemesh, Ramat Beit shemesh area) their first comment after hearing there was a break in is "I thought they were workers doing Shiputzim".
I happen to have had a worker making a lot of noise in my apartment (a Jewish man) and had a neighbor call me on my home line to make sure it was a worker and not a break in.  As nice as it was, if it was an arab breaking into my home, either I am not there or if I was there I obviously would not have been able to answer the phone.  Please everyone, if you see, hear something suspicious take that extra minute, I am sure you would want it done if the roles were reversed.  Again make sure that your doors are locked even if you are "just going to the neighbors", especially your back doors and/or merpeset doors.

I don't feel that the police are wanting or willing to help in this matter, so I would love if someone wanted to write a letter to Moshe Abutbul about the matter of keeping our neighborhood safe.  And I think lastly, everyone should really really think twice about hiring arab workers.  Although I know the break in that happened to me was min HaShamayim, it still creeps into my head "what if my neighbors had hired Jews, these Arabs would not have been here.......)

Wishing everyone a Gut and safe Shabbos...
