[RBS] Skills/interests/values tests?

In the old country, universities offered batteries of tests to help people
figure out what to do with their lives.  They tended to measure the
test-takers self-described skills/aptitude, interests, and values, and with
this data young men and women could get a sense of direction of where they
should be headed, career-wise.

Does anything like that exist around here? 

If not, any suggestions how to help a wonderful young man figure these
things out?
