[RBS] Oct 31-Rabbi Orlofsky speaking at Likrat Kallah annual event

Don't miss a great evening out for women-delicious salads and desserts along

by Rabbi Dovid Orlofsky.
Oct. 31 at Beis Tefila on Nachal Refaim and Nachal Luz.  Doors open at 7:30.
Rabbi Orlofsky will speak around 8:30.
Admission is 35 nis or a new gift for a kallah of equal or more value.

Likrat kallah has helped 1731 kallahs over the last 7 years by giving them 6
new household items for free.  Kallahs receive gifts such as a pot, a pan,
silverware, dishes, bowls, towels or small electric appliances like a
toaster or a sandwich maker.  For families who struggle to put food on the
table, the thought of having to buy these basic items for their young kallah
can be overwhelming.  There is NO shower concept in Israel like in America
and therefore these families must buy everything themselves.  And in some
cases, like the many converts and baalei teshuva and orphans, who come to
us, there sometimes is no family to buy these items for them.

Hachnasat Kallah is a very special mitzvah-the only tzedakah in the Torah
given its very own name.  It's brought down that it is a segula for a refua
shelima since, as the Steipler Gaon explained, this mitzvah appears in our
morning prayer, Eilu Devarim Sheedam Ochal Perotahem.... between the words
bikur cholim and levayat hamat.  The reason is that the mitzvah of Hachnasat
Kallah has the power to be a buffer between the two.!

It is also a segula for shiduchim.  "if you want H-shem to help you with
your kallahs, you have to be helping H-shem with His Kallahs" (Rebbetzin
Rothman from Neve Yerushalyaim.)

Admission money, raffle and Chinese auction money is ALLL 100% tzedakah and
goes straight to the kallahs.
