Next Monday, February 16th at 18:30, Haifux will gather to hear
Rami Rosen's presentation about
Wireless in Linux
Abstract
This lecture is a sequel to the Linux Kernel Networking lecture,
Advanced Linux Kernel Networking - Neighboring Subsystem; IPSec and
IPv6 in the Linux Kernel (Advanced Linux Kernel Networking).
* Short history of Linux Wireless : fullmac and softmac.
* Wireless Modes of operation: infrastructure mode, independent
mode (IBSS), and more.
* The Linux Wireless stack (mac80211).
* MLME (the management layer).
* MLME operations: scanning, association.
* RFmon. (monitor mode) and sniffing.
* A short survey of recent development in Linux Wireless (WiMax,
iwlwifi, 80211.n, mesh networking, and more).
