Linux installation on Lenovo 3000 N500

How can I make room being safe that I don't ruin anything in the windows ?
the situation is now that there is one big partition for windows, and the PDA
you talked about.

I must add that I never used GPartED ; there were cases that I
installed dual boot, but it was when there was already one (or more)
free partitions for linux .
