Job Summary
Red Hat's Systems Management R&D team is seeking a software engineer with
strong application development skills along with experience in systems
management and infrastructure software. Experience with application
provisioning and configuration management is a strong plus.

Red Hat has several successful systems management solutions in the market
including Red Hat Satellite and JBoss Operations Network. As well, Red Hat
is involved with a number of open source systems management efforts
including Cobbler, Pulp, and The Foreman.

There are immediate needs at our offices in Westford, MA; Raleigh, NC; Brno,
Czech Republic & Ra'anana, Israel, near Tel Aviv.


Specific Duties/Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead or contribute to cross-team cross-project work to provide
architectural standards and new functionality in Red Hat systems management
products
• Work across project and technology boundaries (Rails, Java, Python) to
drive integrated solutions based upon existing open source projects
• Contribute significant amounts of code to the system management solutions
and open source projects
• Be a part of the distributed team and will be working independently but in
tight collaboration and regular communication with other team members and
across teams


Job Requirements
• Must have strong object-oriented software development skills
• Outstanding development experience in Ruby on Rails
• Strong development experience with either Java/J2EE or Python
Django/Turbogears
• Experience with server componentization technologies such as EJBs, Seam,
Spring, REST, etc.
• Experience with different Web UI technologies (GWT, JSF, Django, Rails)
• Experience with various deployment models including clouds,
virtualization, and sharded data sets
• Experience with both relation databases (Postgres, Mysql) and nosql
databases (mongo)
• Some experience with Linux/Unix system administration or App Servers
(JBoss/WebSphere/Weblogic)
• Some experience with systems management tools/infrastructure software
• Experience in developing and implementing Web-based systems
• Experience collaborating with technical teams in remote and international
locations
