+ It's important to write down the Mispar Keri'a, so that when they
don't actually fix the problem, you can call back and ask "what
happened to fixing Mispar ...?"
+ If it's something dangerous, then often it is helpful to actually
record the conversation and let them know you are recording it.
+ A final trick, for those really *dangerous* situations that are not
being dealt with - here's what happened today ...
I called (again) about an open drain-water pit,
which has been reported many times and is extremely dangerous.
So they asked me: "Are you the one who called the police on us?" !!!!
(I wasn't actually - but Mei Shemesh was horrified when 2 days ago
they couldn't reach anyone in the Iriya to tell them to deal with it -
they knew how dangerous it was - so maybe they did :-)
Yes, 106 tries very hard, and when it is an outside contractor, like a
gardening/garbage issue, they can be on top of it fairly quickly.
Most other issues require immense nagging.
Here are some typical issues the Iriya deals with (I kid you not):
"We don't have money for new street lights"
"Our truck is broken"
"We ran out of asphalt for the month"
"There is no such street!"
Baruch Hashem Yom Yom - keep smiling and trying!!! :-)
