Is your child  bright, motivated, loves to learn, and is self directed but feels trapped in the current "system?" (ie: my two boys!)

>Would you love to home-school but feel limited in doing so?

>"HaBayit Sheli" the "Homeschoolers School" may be just the place for your child!
>

>At "HaBayit Sheli" our guiding values are TORAH, RESPECT, and RELATIONSHIP.
>
>The focus is on opening officially in September 2012, however This year my son (fifth grade) is being home-schooled by Israeli teachers and I am looking for one or two more boys ages 10-12 to Join him.  They learn Limudai Kodesh in the morning and are building a "Pinat Chai from scratch as well as doing math, Hebrew, etc in the afternoon.

>Our mission is to offer a program where children and childhood are valued
and children are viewed as active citizens of a Jewish democratic
society. We strive to develop in our children important life skills such as the willingness to take risks, curiosity, creativity, persistence,
problem solving, communication skills, joy, wonder, and positive
self-esteem.  Most of all we want our children to LOVE to learn.  Our
educational philosophy is inspired by many leading educational
philosophies which are known for encouraging and promoting holistic self directed learning, critical thinking, language development, expressive
languages, and the arts.
>
>We offer a quality Hebrew speaking program where our children are
respected as competent and capable learners.  Our program follows, and in many ways far surpasses, Misrad Hachinuch requirements.
>Our Torah teachers are dynamic and beloved.  They help facilitate in our children a love of Torah and Eretz Yisrael and a sense of responsibility for the land.
>
>Children at "Habayit Sheli"
help make their own daily schedule, and monitor their own progress.
They evaluate their work together with the teacher.
>
>Their is no such thing as "faliure" in our school.
>
>Our children are typically developing.  At this point we are not able to take children with special needs. Meaning, children who can not function in a regular classroom.    (NOTE:
Otherwise no one else will send.  We need to establish ourselves first.  Then we will integrate all types of learners.)
>Our teachers are seen as facilitators of learning and guide our children in our standard curriculum, as well as long term in depth
projects that follow their individual passions and interests.
>
>The world is our classroom!  The children use many resources in their learning projects and
explorations, including the local library, local experts, the great
outdoors, our RBS community, and the wider community of Israel and the world.
>
>We regularly leave the school to go on tiyulim.
>Conflicts at HaBayit Sheli
are resolved without the use of rewards and punishments.  Every day
begins with a class meeting where the children are taught conflict
resolution and problem solving skills.
>
>Please contact me by phone or e-mail if you are interested for this year only if you have a son 10-12, or for next Sept. for other ages.
