Shlomi,
I really don't want to flame you or anyone else, I am a more junior member
of this list.
However I am on this list to see things about *nix related technology in
Israel and during some periods also looking for jobs (be it for myself or
for friends).
Your e-mail is not "Slightly OT" it's squarely OT, we aren't here to
discuss philosophy, stand up comedy/philosophy or even to discuss "real
problems in the software industry" through fiction.

I could understand it if one of our member actually got turned down or
something like that for bad reason that they may have wanted to blow of
steam (though I think it would be very unwise since any potential future
employer may see the mail too) and started a discussion about some problem
or other (marked as OT) but this is not that.

Though I found the originally posted story mildly entertaining in the end
of the day I am not on this list to be entertained, I have other sources
for that, I am on this list to educate and be educated, to help and be
helped in the area of *nix and *nix related technologies.

I am sure there are lists out there that appreciate the type of posts you
have been making a lot recently, but I doubt it's linux-il, if you do
choose to continue posting please mark as OT.

Regards and שבת שלום,
Eliyahu - אליהו
